A FEW PHOTOS FROM FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA

We left Fort McMurray in driving rain yesterday morning so both the clean motorhome and the clean car were a muddy mess by the time we got past the rain.  We took Highway 881 south to Lac La Biche instead of 63 which is the four lane.  We enjoyed the much quieter highway.  We spent last night at Bellis Lake Campground.

Today was a longer day and we are at the Carbon Municipal East Campground.  We plan to stay three nights here.  Tomorrow we will visit Bud and Jackie in Drumheller.   They are friends we made in Florence, AZ.   On Friday Donna and Steve plan to drive out here from Airdrie to visit us.   Donna was one of Aileen's school friends all through high school.  She is also my first cousin, two times removed.  I think I got that right.

The fields were amazing in some spots we saw today.  Canola fields gleaming in shades of yellow and Flax in it's incredible blue shades invited photos but being 56 feet long makes it impossible to stop to get photos.   I find that extremely frustrating.  I will go out tomorrow morning to see if I can find some good subjects for my cameras.

Hiking trails are abundant in Fort McMurray

We saw this city Fox on our evening walk one night

This lawn looks like a good place for a rest

Not bothered by the homeowner

The bus shelters were quite decorative

  1. You could get a Point & Shoot for Aileen to take some shots for you. It will just take time to trainer her to shoot where you are pointing.
Nice Pictures. The Fox isn't bothered by humans.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
