THIS IS THE LAST POST FROM OUR ROAD TRIP TO ALBERTA

On our last night on the road, we found a nice quiet spot on a mostly abandoned side road up in the mountains near Nancy Green Park which is located at the junction of Highway 3 and 3A.  Castlegar is down 3 to the east and Christina Lake is to the west while Rossland and Trail are down 3A.  We had pavement to park on and just two vehicles went by the whole time we were there.  One was a guy taking his dog for a pit stop and the other was a guy with an ATV.  Two older mountain bikers went past and were back before long.  We were treated to some coyote music and watched one walk up the road toward us.

It was a great night for sleeping with the temperature down to 7C in the morning.  We had to bundle up warmer for our walk.  From there it was about 3 1/2 hours to home.  We stopped in Oliver to use the nice new sani dump.  Next up for the motorhome is a few days in Salmon Arm starting late next week then hoping to get to Vancouver Island for a few weeks in September.

One surprise we found on past our parking spot was a winter basecamp for alpine skiing.  There were about nine of these large snow cats and several buses to transport skiers along with a large maintenance shop.

Black bear footprints in the mud.  The top one is the back foot while the lower one is the front.
