A FEW PHOTOS FROM OUR WEEKEND AT CRUMP CAMPSITE WITH THE SUMMERLAND ATV CLUB.

There were five rigs that spent Friday and Saturday nights parked at Crump which is an un-serviced campground controlled by Sites and Trails BC.  I went for a ride with Doug and Ann on Friday afternoon then Aileen and I visited at two campfires after supper meeting the rest of the attendees.   I went on the club ride Saturday morning with seventeen other machines.  We didn't get much sun but had several light rain showers and at one point, snowflakes.  After we returned from the ride we all got together for the official club barbeque with probably around forty people attending.

Shortly after we got set up on Friday, Doug came over to tell us about this bear they spotted on the hillside above camp.  I was surprised at how far he traveled across the open hillside.

This little gopher was close to the motorhome.

With Ann and Doug.  The dam on Trout Creek was overflowing.

Visiting at our second campfire Friday evening.

Just below Crump camp on Friday afternoon.  This black bear was on the other side of Trout Creek.

Saturday morning in almost the same place the bear was on Friday, I spotted this mountain goat.

Our first rest stop Saturday morning just as we turned off the KVR rail trail to head up into the mountains.  There were twelve quads and six side by sides.

A little mountain meadow.

Heading home along the KVR we stopped to peek at this old sauna alongside Trout Creek.

Peeking in an end window.

Violets by the sauna.

Wild apple tree along the rail trail from an apple core someone tossed aside years ago.

Lichen on a rock in behind the apple blossoms.

There was lots of Penstemon blooming along the rail trail.

The only Scarlet Gilia I saw, down below Crump camp.

BACK HOME AFTER A COUPLE DAYS AT OUR ATV CLUB CAMPOUT.

It wasn't an official campout but since there was a ride Saturday morning and a barbeque in the evening, several of us took our RVs and made it a campout.  Today's images are from before the weekend and are all taken near home.

The wild roses are blooming nicely.

Wild rose in the rain.

Changing of the guard.  There's actually two osprey in the nest.  One just landed and the other one is leaving for her or his turn at getting supper.

And away he or she goes.

I think this was a young Great Blue Heron.  Poison Ivy behind him.

MORE IMAGES OF NATURE.

Mostly taken on our local walks except for the bears.  I went out to service a couple of geocaches last evening and we spotted a bear with three tiny cubs while on the way home.  They didn't wait around for me to get my camera ready but I did manage a couple fleeting images.

Great Blue Heron.

I took this out the bedroom window of a California Quail on the neighbour's shed roof.

I was impressed with the colours in the grass beside the
Salsify flower.
