There was some hoar frost one morning when I was walking up the river trail.

There were two of these Sharp-shinned Hawks in the tree along the river bank. One of our neighbours feeds the birds and the hawks have found it is a happy hunting ground for them.
Nice shots! I watched a sparrow hawk take a bird out at a feeder in Chase once. Remarkably fast predators.
