ATVING CLOSE TO HOME FOR FABULOUS FALL COLOUR PART ONE

We drove up a to an unloading spot not far from home and unloaded the RZR.  From there we rode up into the hills and visited four lakes.  There is a maze of old roads best driven by ATV although we did meet any manner of vehicle along the way.  We never got more than 8 kms (5 miles) from home as the crow flies.  We were in the midst of the best fall colour I have ever seen.  We went out both Monday and Tuesday as the forecast was great and starting today, the rain is to move in which will cause poor light and promote rapid leaf drop effectively ending the great colour.  I will post several times over the next few days to spread the viewing out.

I have never seen so much red in the poplars and I wonder if it is a result of the extreme heat we had this past summer.

Aileen patiently waiting in the RZR.
