LEFT VANCOUVER ISLAND BEHIND US AGAIN

After an enjoyable few days visiting with Neil and Carol, we moved down to Sidney, near Victoria on Tuesday for two nights.   On Tuesday afternoon, I took a drive around the agricultural crop growing region of Saanich.

Don't forget to click on a picture to enlarge it!

It's pumpkin time!

Lots of mixed vegetable crops still looking good

After Georgia got home from school, she and Richard came out to the RV Park to join us for supper.  On Wednesday, which was Richard’s birthday, we joined them for supper at their house.  Robin had cooked our supper in two crock pots and made a tasty gluten free cake complete with candles.  Aileen enjoyed getting a bit more Georgia time in before we leave for an indeterminate time.  It isn’t likely we’ll see them again until sometime in the Spring.    Did I think to take any pictures at the birthday supper? Nope.

Oak Bay Marina was quiet  yesterday

A few boats were out enjoying the great Fall weather

The sea rescue guys were out on a practice run

And the whale watchers were out on their regularly scheduled run, nice rooster tail!

Today, we caught the 9 am ferry to the BC Mainland and tonight we are back in the Shuswap.  We even got to park at Jacquie and Jim’s again since their sale hasn’t gone through yet.  It was too long a day for Aileen but at least it is done.   We were held up a few times for construction and an accident which prolonged the day even more than it would have been.  Now we will catch up on some appointments and visiting for the next few days.  Most likely, we’ll leave here for Penticton next Thursday.
