The freighter coming in empty
The tug gives some scale as to how much is out of the water
Heading out loaded and sitting much lower - it is only a few miles further and they pass around the top end of Vancouver Island and out into the open Pacific OceanThe freighter went by just before 7:30 this evening so it was close to 24 hours of loading time. The conveyor was still running some time after 4 PM when I drove by. It is interesting how much lower it is sitting in the water compared to last night. My close up image shows how much rust colour has been submerged. The tugboat along side gives some scale to the height.
