WE’RE STILL HERE, JUST BEEN INVISIBLE.

After moving on from our parking spot near Bouse, we landed in an abandoned gravel pit along Eagle Eye Road off of the Salome Road.  While we usually have one bar of cell service and can sometimes text and talk, there has been no internet usage.  Our reason for parking here was the number of geocaches in the area.  The past three days were major geocaching days and we spent about five hours each day out in the car looking for them.

We had a major rain last night and it pounded on the roof for hours.  It had been forecast for days and arrived nearly on time and then cleared overnight as also forecast.   I looked out at six this morning and the moon was shining brightly while Venus was sparkling in the eastern sky.

Today is a day of rest from caching.   Aileen gave me a much needed haircut this morning.  Tomorrow we will move the motorhome back to Glendale and our friend’s backyard for a few days.  Aileen and I will take just the car and drive up to Grand Junction, CO on Sunday to attend Ken’s funeral on Wednesday.  I imagine we’ll be gone a week or so.  We plan to take two days to drive up there since we won’t make an early start Sunday.

Looking out our door this morning.

Looking to the north this morning.

Long shadows in the golden hour on an evening walk.

Golden hour.  All the rocks are gray, the low sun is creating the golden light.

South of Quartzsite, AZ.

The other night here it looked like a sunset building.

And a while later it came together.

And the next evening it happened again.

And the next evening it happened again.

And the next evening it happened again.

And the next evening it happened again.

And the next evening it happened again.
