A FEW MORE MISCELLANEOUS PHOTOS FROM THE NORTH ISLAND.

Often photo opportunities present themselves when I don't have my main camera with me so I rely on my iPhone to record the scene.    Here are a few more of those.

We are settled in at Charlie and Sheila's for a few days, mostly taking it easy.  We are slowly working our way through our visiting schedule trying to visit as many family and friends as we can.  On Saturday we drove down to Vistoria for the day to help our granddaughter celebrate her 21st birthday.

We'll probably move a little further down Island in a week or so then it will be soon time to return home.

There was a geocache at this site.  I found a write up about the plane.   In the early 1990's a homemade twin engine aircraft crashed at the south end of the runway at the Port McNeill airport. The cause of the crash is believed to be the wing spoilers were on at takeoff and never turned off. The plane was very large, folks say it was the size of a mobile home living room. The plane was built of fiberglass material and some of it is still there. Four people were on board and no one was hurt. In fact one of the men was on his knees fixing some film equipment when the plane went down, he wasn't aware they had crashed and his buddies told him to get out, we've crashed in the trees! These guys were filming the west coast.

The interior of the plane was very roomy.

Comida Lake, there was a geocache here.

A cruise ship passing Cluxewe Campground with Pulteney Point Lighthouse in the background.  The ship is enroute to Vancouver from Alaska.

Alice Lake.

Aileen took this photo of me and the big stump on the beach at Cluxewe.
