We decided to take a run over to Keremeos for another box of pears to can. It was a pretty day for a drive and some photos. This is the first Goldeneye we've seen in several months.

THE TRUMPETER SWANS ARE BACK FOR THE WINTER
I noticed the swans were back on Vaseux Lake as we were driving by so later I took my camera up to see what I could do. The eagles were a bonus.

Notice how small the Mallards are in comparison to the Trumpeter
Not sure what this ritual would be for
The immature Bald Eagle was on the beach when the mature came after him. Then they had this dogfight in the air.
I think he was just resting in the shallow water then took off
I tried to make it into a Golden Eagle but I think it is an immature Bald Eagle

PART ONE OF AN ATV RIDE LAST WEDNESDAY
I had advertised a ride for today on Summerland ATV Riders but only Al Hays showed up. Since he had already been on the tour I had planned, we went exploring instead. Most of the trails I was familiar with but the higher part of Mt. Kobau I hadn’t been on since 1993 when we drove up in our truck to watch paragliders take off. That was a joint camera club event. We had an enjoyable day with some great scenery.
