Thursday morning we arrived plenty early for the 10:15 sailing from Nanaimo to Tsawwassen, near Vancouver, but the ferry was over half an hour late departing so it was 12:55 when we got off and hit the road towards home. There were the usual traffic slowdowns along the freeway where traffic nearly comes to a standstill then speeds up again and no cause is noticed. Further along we were stopped twice at construction projects. We had a lot of forest fire smoke nearly all the way from the ferry until past Keremeos. We made it home minutes before dark.
We zipped back over to Keremeos yesterday in the car for fruit. We bought 40 pounds of Bartlett pears and 20 pounds of D'Anjou pears which will not need canning for a while. The Bartletts are ready now. We also bought about 13 pounds of beets and we canned 15 1/2 pints of pickles today from them.
We also took the motorhome to the dump station in town today and emptied all the tanks incling the fresh and hot water tanks. All that is left is to run some RV antifreeze through the lines. We finished emptying the inside of the motorhome today and Aileen washed floors after I vacuumed. We have done multiple loads of laundry as well so we're a little pooped.
I have been editing photos as time allows in between times. I got quite a few photos yesterday on my morning walk up the river. I played with an eagle several times and tried for photos of the sockeye salmon trying to get up the dam spillway. Those photos will be posted next but today I will be sharing some photos from the ferry ride.
You always post beautiful pictures and I enjoy your blog.
