HEADING BACK DOWN ISLAND INTO MUCH WARMER TEMPERATURES THAN WE'VE HAD THE PAST FEW DAYS.

One of my neighbours at home called the other day and mentioned his thermometer said 42C.  I looked at ours and we were at 12.2C!   We had several rainy days and some fog and overcast but not too much sun.  Aileen quite enjoyed the weather, me not so much.  We enjoyed our few days with Richard and Georgia visiting.  We will see them again this coming weekend at our family reunion in Coombs.  We got to see Aileen's sister and two of my cousins several times while we were up there.

Momma Merganser and babies.  I thought I was going to get a nice peaceful photo until a very noisy boat came roaring up the Nimpkish River disturbing them.

My brother in law took me for a side by side ride up in the hills and we met this elk calf.  It was probably not much more than six weeks old.  It is about twenty feet from me in this image.

This was our destination.  Overlooking Johnstone Strait and Broughton Archipelago with innumerable islands with the backdrop of the Coast Mountains.

Alaska bound cruise ships go through that narrow passage on the right.

Cruise ships go through just to the right of the tiny island.  I zoomed in from the above photo.

Bunchberry.

The white flower is Bugbane and the yellow is a type of Arnica.
