AN EXCITING MORNING FOR FOUR YOUNG MERGANSERS.

It started off peacefully.  With the smokey skies I've just been walking from home.  I was down by the river when four young Mergansers came floating along.  Suddenly one darted into the shallows on the opposite shore and came up with a Pumpkinseed fish which is a member of the Sunfish family.  Then the fun started.  The other three ducks kept chasing whoever had the fish and when one dropped it, another would grab the fish.  I watched until they all disappeared around a bend in the river.

Just cruising along.
