FAMILY REUNION PART ONE OF FOUR.

We had a family reunion that was mostly descendants from my paternal grandfather and his wife although we did manage to get a few from one of the grandmother's sisters.  We held the event at the Coombs Fairgrounds and I think we had about 125 people come through, mostly on Saturday although we were there on Sunday as well.  As you will see from the photos, it was a visiting group.  Some of the kids who had never met really hit it off with each other.  If I can't remember names, I will put a ? in place.  Please comment or text me the name and/or correct spelling.  Thanks.

LAST IMAGES FROM PORT MCNEILL AREA PART TWO.

As I was driving along Twin Peaks Road I noticed an object in the road with the last car swerving around it.

It was these two dozing ducks and they never flinched as I drove by and stopped to chat with them.

Telegraph Cove had a devastating fire last December 31.  It took out the pub/restaurant, museum and several other buildings.  Work is progressing on replacement.

Overlooking Port McNeill, Sointula and Alert Bay with the Coast Mountains in the distance.

Quatsino Inlet on the left, Holberg Inlet heading away and Rupert Arm on the right.

Closer view of Rupert Arm.  The round hole is the old Utah Copper Mine that they flooded.

Deer Cabbage.

Looking down at my feet, there's lots of variety of plant life.

Looking across to where I took the previous views.

Looking north to Port Hardy area.

Cotton Grass and a little pond.
