MONDAY MARCH 23, 2026 MORNING WALK AND AFTERNOON DRIVE.

Female Western bluebird gathering nesting material.

Male Spotted Towhee.

We were watching this male Western Bluebird that was sitting on a post.  Suddenly he flew down and landed just over twenty feet in front of us which seemed strange but we weren't complaining.

It turned out he saw something we didn't!

Then it was back up to the same post to rest for a bit.

I don't remember if I've ever seen one before but this is a Cassin's Finch.

In the afternoon I took a drive up by White Lake and watched this American Kestrel hovering several times.

American Kestrel decided to head for a new spot.

  1. I know you've always taken pictures of birds, but they're on another level these days! It's always a question of what a person looks at, but I'm guessing that some of your past lens changes have helped, too? Great shot of the feeding bluebird. - Richard
