I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD MORNING TO CHECK OUT THE VIEW OVER THE VINEYARDS.

When I looked out and saw the air was a little crisper looking at 14C, I thought that maybe the vineyards would show up better.  I knew the distance would still be smoky but hoped it would be worth the trip.  I quickly had breakfast then headed off to my favourite location and made my way up on to the bluffs.  I picked up two cactus in my pant leg within twenty feet of the road.  After that, no more cactus until just as I got back to the road later when I saw one on the side of my shoe.
Aileen and I are going on an outing with the camera club tonight to a private observatory up on the mountain above Osoyoos.  Tomorrow we're heading off in the motorhome for a few days in the Shuswap.
The first few images are from our drive to Rock Creek last Saturday.

Meadowlark.

A baby chipmunk who crossed the road in front of us while playing with his sibling then got marooned on the bank with no cover.  For his defence, he remained totally motionless.  I got out of the car and took his photo and as we drove away he still hadn't moved.

There were several of these teasels along the edge of the road making a colourful statement.

We saw this sunflower along Sundial Road the other day.

This clematis was also along Sundial Road.
