Since the weather improved as the morning went on, we decided to go for a drive a little past 11. We poked around various back roads and ended up in Cawston so we took the old Fairview Road back to Oliver. We got really lucky when Aileen spotted a Northern Pygmy-owl right on the side of the road. We were going up a steep corner section of the road so the owl was hidden from my view by the car's roof. He was very co-operative and stayed in place while I got out and took some photos then changed lenses and walked around to his other side. He was still there as we drove away!

Excellent eye by your co-pilot! Great second shot of that owl. -- Richard
