We had some pretty cold weather move in on us during
Christmas so there wasn’t much happening for photos. Our son and his family and his wife’s sister
and husband rented a cabin near Vernon, BC for a few day and we drove up for
lunch with them on December 22. It was
3.5 hours each way for us but it was nice to spend time with them.
Richard and Georgia came and stayed with us for three nights
before heading home to Victoria. We
enjoyed their visit of course. They had
both dogs with them this time. Theodore,
who is a Pomeranian, fit in the house well but Winnie, who is a Bernese mountain
dog, at well over 100 pounds seemed quite large inside. However, she was very well behaved and was a
treat to have. We are now back to our usual
quiet life.
Our recent snowfall has taken quite a beating the past
couple of days with above freezing temperatures and some rain. The streets and trails are icy tonight so we
decided to stay in rather than risk falling.
Aileen walked this morning and saw three mature bald eagles in the same
tree but they were long gone when I ventured out. I had to content myself with a couple of
Sharp-shinned hawks and some of the usual birds.
