VIEWS OVER OSOYOOS, BC

On our little road trip Monday we stopped at a couple viewpoints along Hwy 3 heading east from Osoyoos.  The road swoops back and forth climbing up on to the Anarchist Mtn section of Hwy 3.  Osoyoos is only a few minutes from the US border.  Lots of vineyards and wineries there too.  It is a very popular spot in the summer.

WINTER VINEYARDS

As we started our little road trip on Monday, we took Black Sage Road down the east side of the valley across from the highway.

CRITTER TRACKS IN THE SNOW PLUS SOME FROM A ROAD TRIP

It's interesting to see what type of animals are using the same trail as us.   The road trip photos were fromMonday when we drove to Osoyoos then up Hwy 3 over Anarchist Mtn to where we turned off onto the Mt Baldy Rd.  From Mt Baldy we returned via the Camp McKinney Rd to Oliver.  This is a great circle route that we do several times a year.

The beavers were doing some logging up by the dam

Some coyotes crawled under the RV storage yard fence

Bobcat track this morning.  Aileen actually saw a bobcat across the river a few mornings ago.  Just track soup for me.

Bobcat track this morning.

The sasquatch has a new persona

Not sure I buy into that!

Still some larch needles on the trees up Mt Baldy

Some nice decorating along Hwy 3

BEAVER

Continuing on with the beaver story during my walk yesterday morning, here are some still photos I took along with the videos.   For the two videos, scroll down past this post to the two previous posts.

Sumac, the background is the river.

The colour comes from the sunlight shining on McIntyre Bluff being reflected in the water

Northern Flicker spotted shortly before I saw the beaver

After seeing the beaver, we went for a drive up to Mt Baldy.

AFTER THE BEAVER WORKED SO HARD PULLING THE TREE UPRIVER, HE WAS FAMISHED!
