ON THE MOVE AGAIN AND AN OFFER ON THE HOUSE

I puttered at packing up yesterday morning as Aileen had a hair appointment at ten and I couldn’t load or hook up til she returned which was about eleven. We were on the road about 11:30 and stopped at the rodeo grounds for water for our jugs.

We were hardly on the freeway when our real estate guy called to ask if we could stay in cell range for the day as he was having his partner try to get an offer out of the people who were thinking about our house. We stopped for lunch at Buckley Bay and decided to park in cousin Bill’s driveway near Campbell River rather than pushing on to Sayward or somewhere. Aileen napped while Bill and I went for gas, groceries and propane.

The realtor called with the too low offer just at supper time. Bill printed it out for us and we discussed it at length. After some discussion with the realtor, it was decided to counter offer. Since the deal needs to be completed by June 29 in order to make it work for the buyer, we decided to stay put here today in case of developments. However, nothing has happened so I guess the deal has evaporated. We will continue our travels toward the north Island tomorrow and not worry about maintaining cell coverage.

I took some pictures for Charlie and Sheila for their Grafton Holiday House website which a friend will put together for them.

  1. So it sounds from Mom's email that maybe the to-ing and fro-ing was productive after all? Any chance at an update?!?
